I deal with fibromyalgia, which has completely destroyed my life. I used to play on sailboats for money. I actually became a competitive sailor, and we used to boat in the north Pacific every summer. Those times I will never forget. It all ended when I found out that fibromyalgia had taken over my body, and the simplest activities became challenging and painful. I had to kiss sailing goodbye, and with it, my dreams. I could have tried to deal with it using medication, but you can’t be on the water while taking Vicodin. Finding a natural pain reliever is a really difficult thing to do these days. Doctors always want to give you their own medications, because they’ve only known to medicate when in doubt. I don’t really want to take more medications than I am already, but unfortunately, my arthritis is getting worse. I’ve been trying to find some kind of an alternative, but I just don’t see a way.
